Stealth Crafting

This week has been manic, I had a huge Stampin' Up!  order to place but before I decided to review the list of retiring products to make sure I didn't miss out on anything that I really love!  This took me days of deliberating, so I haven't had much opportunity to create.

This morning my opportunity presented itself, whilst my husband was having a lie-in and the little boy was napping, so I got stuck into my craft boxes.

I wanted to use my elegant butterfly punch (I don't feel like I've given it much love) and floral district designer series paper.  I thought that I would keep it simple and make a few cards to take into work to sell.

Cardstock: whisper white
Paper: Floral District
Other: elegant butterfly punch, rhinestones, ribbon and buttons  (tangerine tango and tempting turquoise)

I really wanted to share Stampin' Up! with others, so with the help of my upline Kylie Henshaw (www.hellostamper.blogspot.co.uk), I will be holding a summer 'stamp camp'/ workshop on Saturday July 20th from 13:30 - 16:30 at St. Mary's Church Hall, Selby Road, Leeds, LS15 0AA.

 

 

We will be showcasing a stamp set (not sure which one yet as the new catalogue is released on July 1st) and some of the fantastic products available from Stampin' Up!  We will be using them to create four beautiful projects which we hope will inspire you to get stampin'

 

The cost of the workshop is £25 per person, this will include all materials, cake, refreshments and your very own set of the featured stamps to take home, so that you can recreate your projects again and again.

Super-craft Sunday

Today I was fortunate enough to find myself with a couple of hours free.  My little boy was napping and my husband was out running.   I couldn't make up my mind about what kind of card to make so I decided to make three!

I like to keep things tidy as I don't have a great deal of room to work in so I prepared things like a workshop.   I cut all my cardstock pieces for each project and put it into a plastic box.I added the stamp sets, ink and emembellishments and stacked them up out of the way.  I then tidied up and got out my dimensionals, glue, snail adhesive & paper snips.

Then I made a cup of tea and got stuck in....

Birthday Boy

The theme of training this quarter was cards for men.  I couldn't go, but I thought I would have a go at making one.  I chose a boy's birthday card, although I think it would suit a young man too.

Kids don't seem to be into Thomas the tank engine or Ben 10 anymore, it's all about Doctor Who and the Big Bang Theory.   So this card has a grown up quality about it,  but the colours are fun and playful!

The countdown to Christmas begins now...

My first Stampin' Up! order included the chock full of cheer stamp set & coordinating Be of good cheer designer paper pack.

So during nap-time I thought I'd get a head start on my Christmas preparations.

Hello!

I'll start by saying Hello! and Welcome to my blog.  I'll begin by telling you a little bit about me -

My name is Fiona, I am 31 years old and live in Whitkirk, Leeds with my husband and 18 month old son.
I am a scientist by day and a craft addict by night, I have enjoyed knitting for a number of years and more recently discovered the joys of papercrafting.

I recently found out about Stampin' Up through a work colleague.  I contacted a local demonstrator and organised a craft workshop at my home.  The workshop was fantastic!  I invited 4 friends and we spent a couple of hours completely immersed in our card-making.  All our materials were included in the cost, and the 4 cards we produced were beautiful, and cost less than we would have paid in the supermarket.  Even the least 'crafty' of my friends was astounded with the results.  I was hooked!

Less than a week later, before my order had even arrived, I had contacted the demonstrator to enquire about getting more involved and within 48 hours of my order arriving I had signed up as a demonstrator.

Kylie Henshaw, the demonstrator in question, is now my 'upline', mentor and friend, and this blog will follow me as I embark on my adventure as an Independant Stampin' Up Demonstrator.

I will use this blog to share my creations, let you know about any forthcoming workshops or classes I am holding in my local area (Whitkirk/Temple Newsam) and keep you updated about Stampin' Up offers and hostess benefits.
